Announcing the 1st Audeamus International Music Festival

We are delighted to officially announce the 1st Annual Audeamus International Music Festival, scheduled to take place November 23-28, 2015, in Zagreb, Croatia.

For one week in November, an international cohort of nine award-winning performers and composers representing five countries on three continents will come together for a series of concerts, master classes, and outreach programs, taking place throughout the city of Zagreb, and culminating with three chamber music concerts held at the renowned Mimara Museum Concert Hall, in the heart of downtown Zagreb. Admission is free for all.

A genuinely unique musical event, the Audeamus Festival eliminates traditional segregations in today’s staging of classical music. Presenting works from all stylistic periods side by side in the same evening and with equal emphasis, Audeamus fully embraces all contextual implications in an effort to take unjustly marginalized music out of the fringes without neglecting the masterworks. With a spotlight on the work of today’s young composers, Audeamus will feature a world premiere of a composition commissioned specifically for the festival in every concert.

To further promote diversity within and beyond the music itself, all performers on our roster are scheduled to participate in each concert held at the Mimara Museum Concert Hall. This format creates additional opportunities for eclectic programming, juxtaposing well-established works for standard ensembles with lesser-known gems for non-standard, mixed ensembles.
